Lois Vicki Hollingsworth Rasco

Born in Bakersville, CA, her family settled in Belle Glade, FL when she was young. Vicki grew up working in her parents’ shoe store, Hollingsworth Shoes. From a young age, she participated in many local pageants and competed winning numerous titles. She graduated from Belle Glade High School, and then attended the University of South Carolina. On break from college, she met James Rasco, of Barlow KY, who would become her husband of 52 years. Together they made their home in West Palm Beach. Vicki attended Nova Southeastern University where she studied to become an Elementary School Teacher. She taught at several schools in the area, including H.L. Johnson Elementary School, Royal Palm Beach ES, and Gove ES (Belle Glade). She retired about 10 years ago to spend more time with her grandchildren.

Vicki was an active member of Community United Methodist Church in Belle Glade and at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in West Palm Beach. Like her mother before her, she was the consummate hostess and friend. Raised with old school values and traditions, Vicki was considered by those closest to her to be, “a true Southern Lady.” She loved to entertain, often hosting parties at her home and at church. She loved helping people, serving on the Administrative Board at Good Shepherd. In addition, when she volunteered at her children’s musical and sporting events, and events at the church. In retirement, Vicki especially loved the Hallmark channel, instilling in her family the Christmas tradition of the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. Her proudest love and accomplishment was her family and her friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Fenton Hollingsworth (Lois & Jack); her nephew, Fenton Andrew Hollingsworth (Andy); her son, Robert Lee Rasco (2015); and her husband, James L. Rasco (2018).

She is survived by her daughter Vicki Suzanne Rasco (Suzi); her brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Rachel Hollingsworth; her beloved grandchildren: Alex and Abbey Smith, James and Emily Rasco; her nieces Mary-Anne Kline and Meghan McGee; numerous cousins and friends.

There will be two celebrations of life for Vicki. The first is on Saturday, January 9 from 2-5 at Baldwin Fairchild @ Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando. The second celebration of life will be on Saturday, February 13 from 2-5 at Quattlebaum Funeral and Event Center, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach.

Inurnment will take place in Barlow, Kentucky in Summer 2021.
