

She was born on December 6, 1927, in Warsaw, Indiana. She graduated from Warsaw High School and later earned certifications in bookkeeping through Community Vocational Schools, which she applied in her professional life.
On October 11, 1945, she married Dean E. Taylor. A decision was made, by her and her husband, to leave Indiana and start a new life in Orlando FL. So In August of 1960 they moved, with the 3 kids. She then started her education and work in bookkeeping. With the help of her cousin Earl K. Wood started her work at the Orange County Credit Union.
Nora accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior early in life and was baptized at a Baptist church in Warsaw, Indiana. She was an active member of "The Church of the Brethren" in Warsaw and Orlando.
She also attended "South Conway Baptist Church" in Orlando, Florida. She also served on the board at the Gulfstream Harbor mobile home community and was involved in many church and community activities.
She enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, especially knitting, sewing, boating, and camping with her husband as part of a boating club in Kissimmee, Florida.
Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Dean E. Taylor; her son, Kirby L. Taylor; brothers, Kenneth L. Meek and Joseph L. Meek; sister, Dorothy Jean Keim; her parents, Charles Meek and Ruddell Wiencken; and her nephew, James “Jimmy” Keim.
She is survived by her son, Mickey A. Taylor (Kathleen); daughter, Rita Jo Taylor; step-sister, Patty Miller, niece, Lynn Marie Keim of Georgia; nephew, Chris Meek of Minnesota; five grandchildren: Troy (Mitzi), Michelle (Chris), Kimberly (Dave), Sandra, and Rebecca (Chris); 13 great-grandchildren: Heidi, David (McKenzie), Kirsten (Tony), Gretchen, Eric, Samantha, Brooke, Niccia, Sorin, Tori, Logan, Bethany, and Aiden; and four great-great-grandchildren: Everly, Brooks, Judah, and Anthony.
To her family and those who loved her, she was affectionately known as “Meemaw.”
A Graveside Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817.
