

Ravenelle Ray Charles Stewart, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, took a flight from this earth’s runway to his heavenly home on Sunday, March 8, 2026. He was 83 years old. He was born on January 9, 1943 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Ravenelle R. C. Stewart, Sr. & Kathleen Ethel Hobson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Quincey Stewart.
Ray was a 1961 graduate of Dunbar High School in Lynchburg, Va. After graduation, he enlisted with the United States Air Force.
After his military duty, he worked for Air Virginia, American Eagle, Piedmont Airlines, and US Airways. Ray was fascinated by aircraft. He even learned how to fly. He started out fueling airplanes and worked his way up to being The Best Ticket Agent Ever. He would always make sure his passengers were pleased about their flight. He retired from US Airways at OIA after 37 years of service.
Ray loved cars and was an avid motorcycle guy. He had a bike at a very early age and would go to bike week whenever he could. His favorite bike was his Honda Gold Wing! He was not without a bike for the rest of his life. He was also a drummer and had a band back in the day. He loved his smooth jazz and always liked going to Jazz in the Park.
He is mourned by his wife of 34 years, Rebecca M. Stewart; as well as his children, Tonya S. Jones & her husband Troy of Orlando, FL; Ravenelle R. C. Stewart, III of Orlando, FL; Sandy S. Jones & her husband Pierre of Glenn Heights, TX; Kevin Stewart & his wife Lorena, and Anthony Stewart & his partner Kristal of Orlando FL; step-children, Thomas Lee and his partner Desiray of Jacksonville, FL; Nazarelle Drake & her husband Jack of Paducah, KY; and Jerico Meneses & his wife Denise of Winter Springs, FL; grandchildren, Christopher Stewart of Orlando, FL; Adonis, Sebastian, & Julian Stewart of Apopka, FL; Kalvin Stewart of Asheboro, NC; Justin & Makella Tate of Paducah, KY; Jenica & Zachary Meneses of Winter Springs, FL; and great-grandchild, Brooklynn Stewart of Lynchburg, VA; sisters-in-law, Divina Rodriguez & her husband Rizalino of Orlando, FL and Mercedita Mendoza of Plano, TX; brother-in-law Ariel Mendoza & his wife Imelda of Bataan, Philippines; and cousin Carol Evans & her husband Randy of Santa Monica, CA; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, 3/27/26, from 5pm-9pm at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill located at 2420 Harrell Road in Orlando, FL 32817.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, 3/28/26 at 10am at Dover Shores Baptist Church located at 551 Gaston Foster Road in Orlando, FL 32807.
Services of comfort are entrusted to Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
