Vonny was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on May 22, 1973. She moved with her family to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 1980, where she lived for 4 years, before moving back to Texas and living in San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country of Lakehills and Bandera. Vonny graduated from Bandera High School in 1991 and subsequently pursued a Bachelors' Degree in Anthropology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. One of Vonny's favorite things during her time in College was her involvement in an archaeological dig in Italy, where she developed a strong interest in the Ancient Etruscan culture. Vonny was a life-long fan of learning and exhibited a mastery of the English language and had an astounding intellect and retention of facts. She loved trivia and even hosted trivia games at local pubs.
She married Richard Reynolds on January 2, 2003, and together they created Vonny's favorite achievement in life: her son, RJ Reynolds.
Vonny spent most of her life working in the Theme Park Industry, starting out as a Water Park Lifeguard at Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, where she progressed into leadership positions and then became the familiar voice of Operations Base dispatch for the park. She moved to Orlando, Florida, in 1996, where she worked as a Character at Disney World and then worked at Discovery Cove and Sea World for the rest of her theme park career.
She had a passion for just about everything including Gymnastics, Dance, Art, Music, Politics, Architecture, Archaeology, Anthropology, History, Football, Genealogy, Crafts, Astrology, Palm Reading, Tarot Reading, and The Craft. During her years in Saudi Arabia, Vonny was trained by Olympic level coaches in gymnastics, and she excelled in the sport. Several years later she taught Gymnastics at a local gym. She loved to sing and dance and made friends easily due to her natural charm and outgoing, generous and loving personality.
Vonny is survived by her son RJ Reynolds, husband Rich Reynolds, sister Misty Hanbury, brother-in-law Ian, and nephew Jayden of Orlando, Florida; step-brother Keith Armstrong and Sister-in-law Robin, of Buda, Texas; step-sister Janet Galvan and brother-in-law Fred, of Austin, Texas; and step-sister Kelly Williams and brother-in-law Russell, of Midlothian, Texas. She is also survived by her father Lee Mallia and his wife Patsy, of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Debra Schwarz, and her brother, John Mallia, both of Lakehills, Texas.
She also leaves behind scores of "framily" members who Vonny freely accepted into her inner circle with open arms. Vonny was the brightest of lights whose presence led others to be the most authentic version of themselves. She never judged, always loved, laughed often, and profusely encouraged and helped in whatever way was needed.
