Virginia Faye Ross, 92, a devoted Mother and animal lover, passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2025, surrounded by her family and beloved pets. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on September 28, 1932. The youngest of 6 children to William Jessie Mills and Alma Florence Caine. She is survived by daughter Stella Mullins Clifton Underwood of Nampa, Idaho, Anthony Mullins of Springfield, Ohio and daughter Tina Yaus and son-in-law Joey Yaus with whom she lived. Grandchildren Jeremy Mullins of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and Sarah Mullins of Kettering, Ohio. She had 7 great grand-children and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She worked for the police department as a record clerk for the City of Xenia, Ohio for over 30 years. Virginia moved to Florida upon retirement to be near her family. She had a severe stroke in 2017 that left her with no use of her left side. She went to therapy for hours, 3 times per week until she met her goal, 2 years later of walking 100 feet assisted. She always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a pillar of strength and support. A role model for women. Her special relationship with caretaker Eleanor Saunders inspired “Ellie” to change her major and complete her education in physical therapy.
She loved watching westerns on TV, exercising , playing with her pets and eating good food with family and friends on her flower covered porch. She was a source of inspiration to us all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local pet shelter. Virginia’s remains will be buried between her parents at a later date.
