May 8, 1930 – March 27, 2019
Wayne was born on May 8, 1930 in Kentucky as the first child of Dorothy and Haper Hardway. Wayne matured quickly, at a very young age due to the loss of his father. He assumed responsibilities in caring and providing for his family.
Wayne served in the Army from Feb 4th 1953 to Feb 5 1955. He then served in the Army Reserves for 8 years. He married Theresa Marie Vitello on Oct 8th 1955, and together they raised 5 daughters.
Wayne’s journey through life was filled with joy and his love of life. He was a family man, who took pride in his girls; always attending church activities, music concerts and school events – thrilled to support his girls. Every summer we would load up in our station wagon and travel off for an exciting adventure. As the years went by Wayne was the most devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who was a delight and great role model for all.
Wayne loved camping and fishing with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He’s traditions created tremendous memories that we will cherish and pass along to further generations.
After 59 years of marriage, Wayne lost his loving wife due to complication of diabetes on January 18, 2014. Wayne joined Theresa on March 27, 2019 due to age related illnesses and complications sustained from an accidental fall.
While his family will miss him greatly, we are thrilled that Wayne is reunited with his beautiful wife Theresa and will keep him alive in our hearts forever.
