She was married to Edwin Mac Provost on August 9, 1970 in Hutchinson. Ann was preceded in death by her father, William Lowell Hutchinson, and her husband, Edwin Mac Provost. Ann enjoyed a 20 year career with the Olathe Public Schools where she worked as a librarian at Central Elementary. She was a voracious reader, and belonged to a book club for many years. She was a member of the Kansas Reading Circle and reviewed thousands of children's and young adult books over the years. She helped manage the library at Asbury United Methodist and automated the check-out system to make using the library easier for patrons. She was a member of the Asbury Chancel choir and the Bell Choir. She volunteered as an usher at the Folly Theatre in downtown Kansas City. For a year after recovering from treatment, she was a YouthFriends volunteer at Santa Fe Trail Elementary. She was most passionate about her grandchildren, and showered them with hugs and kisses, books, and bedtime stories. She played the piano, and as a youngster, the violin. She loved quiet evenings at home watching movies as much as she enjoyed a rousing happy hour with friends. For two years, Ann fought a diagnosis of Esophageal Cancer. She bravely faced multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, brain surgery, and painful stent procedures. She died peacefully at home with her family by her side.
