Berniece Ann (Pearson) Ziegler, age 84, of Lenexa, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born in Seneca, Kansas and lived in this area most of her life. She was a bookkeeper and secretary for many of the area Churches and worked for the City of Lenexa. Berniece was a member of the Pilot Club of Lenexa. She volunteered for the Women’s Shelter of Johnson County and CASA through the Olathe court system. She was a member of Holy Trinity and Good Shepherd Catholic Churches.
Berniece was preceded in death by her parents James Philip Huerter and Mattie Lard, husband Donald Lee Pearson (October 1976), twin great-grandsons Jaiden and Landon Maloney (December 2006), and Ronald Ziegler (July 2014). She is survived by her children Debbie Olari, Donna and Dan Reiss, Michelle Buck, Rick and Candy Pearson, and Kay and Mike Findling; twenty-six grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at a later date with interment in Lenexa Cemetery located at: Pflumm Road and West 89th Terrace, Lenexa, KS 66215. The family has suggested memorial contributions to Shawnee Parc post-acute rehabilitation center or Catholic Community Hospice of Overland Park, KS in memory of Berniece.
