

Dean graduated from Larned High School and attended one semester at Pittsburg State University until he was drafted into the Army. Dean worked as a manufacture’s sales representative until he bought 24 Hwy Auto Parts in Independence, Missouri and opened Kirby Machine. He retired in October 1997, but during retirement worked part time for Lazer Equipment. He enjoyed street stock and Nascar auto racing, traveling in his RV, and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Glenda Kirby, his daughters Linda Park and husband Phil; Brenda Okerberg and husband Mike; brother Jim Kirby and wife Marge of Larned, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held before the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Larned Cemetery in Larned, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
