Pat. My prayers are with you and your family.

I worked with Dick when I was with CDM in Wichita. He was a supportive mentor, offering compassionate critiques and generous praise. Dick showed equal respect to all his colleagues, regardless of job title or experience. He gave me the opportunity to gain new skills in a safe learning environment
He was an exceptional man. I am sad to hear of his passing.

Dear Kaufman Family. I haven't seen you all in a while, since I was 11 and a 2nd year scout. Mr. Kaufman helped me earn one of my Eagle merit badges. He was always so kind to me. I'm sorry to hear that he died.

I am sad and stunned to learn of Dick's passing. He was a big part of my life during college and a few years after. Though we hadn't been in touch for many years, I have many nice memories of him, his mother and sister. He so loved the outdoors and fishing, and life in general. Thoughts and prayers for all.

When Dick and I were in school at KU Dick had no idea what he wanted to do. I had just started in Civil Engineering and took Dick over to Learned Hall and introduced him to several of the professors and the Dean of CE, and then worked on convincing Dick that engineering would be a great field for him. We stayed friends over the years, but not like we were in college. I am sad to learn of his passing.

Dick was a great man, a great friend and great mentor.  He was ever willing to lend a hand or an ear.  Words can not express what both he and Pat did for us personally and professionally.  We only hope that someday we are able to help someone just as he did for us.  We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dick through his volunteerism with Boy Scouts of America. His dedication to the program was unmatched, and many youth in our area ultimately benefited from his leadership. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of sorrow.

I was also blessed to know Dick in elementary school and we became quite close at one time as he lived close to me. He was always sweet and kind to me and it is with shock that I hear of his passing. My sympathies to his family and friends.

Dick was a classmate in high school.  He was one of few that showed kindness to the "new girl". I remember when Dick and several guys surprised me with a birthday cake in our psychology class. 

It saddens me that his family has this tough time to get through.  It pleases me to see his kindness carried through his life.  My sympathies to his family and friends!

I am so sorry about Dick's passing.I just found out through Greg Clevenger, our keeper of the flame reunion connector,from our high school,SM North.
   I have known Dick since we were small children,because of the friendship of my beloved Aunt, and Dicks' mother, Janie.We had not kept in touch since Junior High,yet there was a very real connection since our paths crossed because of the friendship of the adults in our lives. His family has my prayers of comfort in this time of profound loss.

Dick was a great guy. I worked with him at DuBois Consultants and later on at Black and Veatch! He never met a stranger and he worked really hard to help so many smaller businesses.  He will be missed.

None of us live forever; yet, I was stunned to learn of the passing of my friend. I'm flooded with memories of our growing up years that started in about 4th grade when our parents agreed to share carpooling duties to take us to Youth Choir at church. We spent a lot of time together up to high school; less time in high school as our interests diverted.  We still managed to cross paths from time to time in later years (he was at my wedding and I visited him in KC). Dick was always a friend in the truest sense of he word. And, when we met later after both were married and had our own children, it was obvious he had become a wonderful husband and father!  People aren't always with us; but, our memories of them are.  Pat, Jake and Haley, I'm sure you have more and better memories than I.  I pray they will comfort you and sustain you at this time and always.

I'm blessed to have crossed paths with Dick and his wife Pat. What started as a work relationship quickly turned into a friendship. I wish everyone a bit of his personality.

My heartfelt sympathys go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4 : 14 can bring comfort.Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

Lucky are those people that called Dick Kaufman, husband, father, brother and friend. His laughter and kindness are etched in our memories as a testimony to a life well lived by a special man.

I was sad to hear of Dick's passing. I have not seen Dick for many years but attended school with Dick elementary through high school. I have memories of Dick being such a nice guy. My sympathy to your family.

it is with great sadness that I received the news of Dick's passing.  Many wonderful memories accumulated over many years. As my older brother's close friend since junior high, I always idolized him. As an adult I always had a deep respect and admiration. My prayers are with you and your family at your time of loss.

Pat, Jake and Haley,  I just learned today of your loss.  I was in Canada fishing and called Jan from I Falls this morning and she told me.  It was a sad drive home but it also gave me a time to reflect on Dick's life and the good times we had.  Dick was an exceptional man and person.  Anyone that could call him friend had their life enriched because he was in it. My deepest condolences to your family.
