Donna Mae Brooks

Donna Mae (Long) Brooks, age 78, of Overland Park, KS passed away February 8, 2022. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W. 75th Street, Suite 4126, Prairie Village, KS 66208.

Donna was born on June 4, 1943 in Carrollton, MO. She graduated from Bogard High School and attended the University of Central Missouri. Donna married Daniel R. Brooks Sr. on August 10, 1965 in Leawood, KS. She enjoyed tending to the flowers in her yard, gardening and traveling. She was an Insurance Agent for more than 30+ years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Olivemae E. Long and her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Marie Brooks.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel R. Brooks Sr., of the home; her son, Daniel R. Brooks Jr., Leawood, KS; her daughter, Deirdre E. Daniels and her husband, Joe, Springfield, MO; her grandchildren, Drew Brooks and his fiancé, Bethany Applegate, Salina, KS and Alyssa Daniels and Estes Daniels, both of Springfield, MO; her sister, Margaret Smith and her husband, Ron, Gilman City, MO; her nieces, Kristy Reno and her husband, Bill, Eagleville, MO and Rhonda Rouchka and her husband, Bryan, Chillicothe, MO; her nephew, Scott Billups and his wife, Sarah, Ridgeway, MO; her sister-in-law, Phyllis B. Van Pelt and her husband, Thom, Piedmont, SD; her nephew, Tim Van Pelt and his wife, Danielle, Black Hawk, SD; and her nieces, Lydia Van Pelt and Erica Van Pelt, both of Piedmont, SD.
