Donna Lou Mills Budke

Donna Lou Mills Budke, 84, Overland Park, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Throughout her long illness with dementia, she remained positive and cheerful.

Donna was born in Topeka, Kansas to parents Donald and Jewell (Dennis) Mills. She graduated from Washington High School and obtained a nursing degree from the University of Kansas. She loved children, animals, art and gardening. Donna was an active member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and volunteered as a docent at the Kansas City Zoo.

Donna married Harry T. Budke, Jr, in 1962. She was dearly loved by her brother, Bill “Jazzbo” Hargrave, her children, Leslie (Peter) Malle, Jennifer (David) Roselli, Christopher (Deborah) Budke, and David (Diana) Budke, her grandchildren, Scott (Monica) Reed, Tim Reed, Matthew (Kelsey) Roselli, Luke and Sam Roselli, Allison, Rachel and Sarah Budke, and Daniel Budke, and her great-grandchildren Dylan, Vivian, and Mikayla Reed. Her husband and parents preceded Donna in death.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 14, 2015, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 6630 Nall Avenue, Mission, Kansas, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Donna’s name to the Kansas City Zoo or St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Online condolences may be left at www.mcgilleyhoge.com.
