Elise Tarwater McAnany

Elise McAnany, 87, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully and prayerfully on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am, with the Rosary at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 14 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 W. 71st Street, Overland Park, KS, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the church. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.

Elise was born on January 9, 1930 in Kansas City, MO to Adrian J. and Adelaide M. (Welch) Gallagher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom Tarwater August 5, 1994, and John McAnany October 8, 2011. Also preceding her in death were her brother Ed, and her sisters Adelaide and Ceil. Elise is survived by her sisters, Theresa McFadden (Jefferson City) and Peggy Dodd (Osage Beach), daughter, Kathy (Jack) Curry of Lenexa; sons, Tom Tarwater of Leavenworth, and Tim (Pam) Tarwater of Overland Park; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Horizon Academy Scholarship Fund, 4901 Reinhardt Dr, Ste.
