Jennie Reid (Lowery) Russell, age 97, of Overland Park, KS passed away, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Bickford of Overland Park. Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, September 13th at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, Overland Park, KS with visitation from 10-11 am Tuesday at the chapel prior to the service. Graveside services will be 1:30 pm Tuesday at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to Leawood Baptist Church, 8200 State Line Road, Leawood, KS 66206.
Jennie was born on June 12, 1919 in North Little Rock, AR to Eliza and A.C. Lowery. She married William O. Russell on December 22, 1951. She was a homemaker, volunteer at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and a Charter Member of Leawood Baptist Church. Jennie and her husband, Bill traveled the World. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Russell; brother, Vance Lowery; and sisters, Katie Allen and Mary Waldo. Jennie is survived by two nephews, Andy Waldo of Scott, AR and William Lowery of El Dorado, AR. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Linda Hollaway and Beth Sirna.
