John Charles Kelley, age 66, of Mission, Kansas passed away unexpectedly Saturday the 31st of January 2015 at home from natural causes. A visitation will be held at 6-8pm Thursday, February 5th at St. Pius X Catholic church, 5500 Woodson, Mission, Kansas 66202. The funeral service will be held at 10am Friday, February 6th also at St. Pius. In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting donations to help with funeral costs. They are in the process of setting up a memorial fund for John. In the meantime cash and checks can be made out to Erin Cronin and sent to the church.
John was born September 13th, 1948, the son of Charles Kelley and Margret Moore Kelley. John was a talented musician and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, cheering on the Jayhawks, and playing his cello. John was very involved with his church and was a member of several music groups. Anyone who knew John well, knew that he always had a great story to tell. John leaves behind his children, Kevin Kelley (Heather Rodgers, Fiancé) and Erin Kelley Cronin (Rick Cronin), and his two grandchildren, Leo and Killian Cronin. John was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife, Deborah Flaherty Kelley.
