

Lawrence Patrick Connelly, 64, of Mission, Kansas passed away January 4th, 2017 with his mother, Iva, and sister, Kathleen, by his side. His visitation will be 10am, Friday, December 13th at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5500 Woodson, Mission, Kansas followed by Mass at 11am. His burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO at 1:30pm.
Lawrence was born to Thomas Patrick and Iva J. (Looney) Connelly on October 24, 1952. He was a 1970 Bishop Miege High School graduate, and then graduated with an Associate’s degree in Marketing and Sales from JCCC in 1972.
In the early 70s, he worked as a beverage manager for the Alameda Plaza, and then moved to Dallas, Texas to lend his creative talents and business knowledge to the Silvestri Showroom at the Dallas Market Center by selling Christmas and Decorative Accessories. After 20 years with Silvestri, he then became associated with Donald McEvoy till 1996. He returned home after the death of his father, Thomas, to help care for his mother and sister and lending moral support. After returning home, he worked for Reece Nichols and then Mission Hills Country Club as their Beverage and Special Events Manager.
He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Thomas Francis and Ailene Connelly; maternal grandparents, Earnest and Wilma Ann Looney; and his aunt Mary Eileen (Connelly) Whittemore.
He is survived by mother, Iva J. Connelly; sister, Kathleen A. Connelly; nephew, James Patrick and Becky (Schultz) Bales and their children Reed and Rory; nephew, Thomas D. and Amy (Eillson) Bales; niece, Melissa (Bales) and Cody Owen and their children, James Thomas and Bailey; niece, Jennifer R. 9Bales) and Ted Wismeier and their daughter, Erin; aunts and uncles, Maxine Berry and family, Pauline Grasher and family, Ella Bassone, Bertie and Marvin Manthy and family, Alfred and Arlene Looney and family, Marie Henson and family, Frankie George, Gloria and John Holloway and family and Larry Looney; cousins, Michael and Sandy Pignotti and family, Douglas Whittemore and family, Robert and Kendra Whittemore and family; and many extended family and dear, close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make memorial contributions in his name to St. Pius X Catholic Church for Masses, Great Plains SPCA- Merriam, KS or St. Judes’s Children’s Hospital.
