Leonard E. Hoffman, 87, Overland Park, KS, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011. Due to weather, services have been rescheduled. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM, Friday, February 4 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 W. 71st, Overland Park. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM, Thursday, February 3, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, followed by a visitation until 8 PM. Interment will be at 1 PM, Saturday, February 5 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Frankfort, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, 10000 W. 75th, Ste. 240, Overland Park, KS, 66204.
Leonard was born August 1, 1923 in Potter, KS, in a log cabin. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas where he worked as a painting contractor. He served in the US Army. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Alice (Kane) Hoffman; and three brothers: Orval, Darryl, and Melvin. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; daughters: Jeanne (Mike) Gear, and Nancy (Norman) Weinberg; a son: Jerry Hoffman; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Clarence and Merle; and by 2 sisters: Alice Horvath and Eileen Bradford.
