

Margretta Elizabeth Larson, 64, a life-long resident of Johnson County passed away July 9, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 13 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 6630 Nall Avenue in Mission, Kansas. A memorial gathering will follow the service in Spencer Hall at the church. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice in memory of Margretta.
Margretta was born January 21, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Notre Dame de Sion in 1970 and went on to receive two degrees from the University of Kansas, and was a member of ΔΔΔ sorority. She was a 26-year employee of Kansas City Life Insurance Company and retired in 2006. One of Margretta’s passions was figure skating and she was able to compete at the national level for many years as a member of the United States Figure Skating Association. On February 7, 2004 Margretta and Greg Larson were married at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
Margretta was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy (Hart) and Claude Farley and her brother, Paul Farley. She is survived by her loving husband, Greg; brothers, Michael (and Linda) Farley of Olathe and Marc (and Barb) Farley of Ely, Minnesota; a sister, Judith (and Richard) Henry of Norman, Oklahoma; a nephew, Brandon Henry of St. Paul, Minnesota and a niece, Robin Henry of Wichita, Kansas.
All who knew Margretta and her winning smile will miss the brightness she radiated.
