Her great grandparents settled at 78th and Metcalf in the 1850s in Glenn, Kansas (now Overland Park, KS), where her great grandfather was appointed the US Postmaster in the 1860s. She grew up in a rural community that was full of aunts, uncles and cousins. She attended Overland Park Grade School and Shawnee Mission Rural (SM North), where she was a member of the National Honor Society and was the Salutatorian of her graduating class. She was married to her long time sweetheart, Clinton Otis Daly, a Navy Pilot, on July 5, 1944. During WWII, they were stationed at the NAS Banana River in Florida and the NAS Alameda, while Clinton finished his flight training. Marjorie returned to Overland Park after he was sent to the South Pacific and worked at the ration board in Overland Park. In 1965, she went to work at Shawnee Mission West High School.
Marjorie and Clinton spent many years enjoying their time off at their cabin in the Lake of the Ozarks, where they were frequently joined by their family and friends. After retiring, they enjoyed winters in Texas and Gulf Shores, Alabama. They spend many happy days with friends and family at the Naval Base in Pensacola, where Clinton completed his flight training.
She was a lifelong member of the Overland Park Presbyterian Church, where her grandparents and other family members were Charter members in 1911. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Marjorie is survived by her three children, Robert (Susan) Daly, Cherie Daly and Michael (MaryBeth) Daly as well as grandchildren, Rebecca (Tristan) Walker-Buckton, Carrie Daly, Ross (Hailey) Daly and Sean Daly and great granddaughter, Sarang.
