Mike Gregory

Mike Gregory, age 86 of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on August 20, 2012. Funeral services will be at St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, Overland Park, Kansas on Friday, August 24, at 10:00am with Visitation on Thursday, August 23 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Trisagon Prayers read at 7:00pm at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Chapel. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church Memorial Fund or Heartland Hospice Care.

Mr. Mike Gregory was born on November 25, 1925 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Before immigrating to the United States in 1949 he served in the Royal British Air force during WWII. Mike married to Lola Marie Robison of Clarksdale, Missouri in 1950. In 1953 Mike took his wife and their two children and moved to southern California opening his first Service Station in Manhattan Beach, California. In 1968 Mike and his family returned to the Midwest. Mike was owner of Mike Gregory Standard Station in Overland Park and Gladstone Amoco before he retired in 1985. Mike was a long time member of St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, serving on the Parish council and a member of the AHEPA Sunflower chapter. After his wife Lola’s death, during one of his many travels to his homeland he met Lilijana Lavarovska of Bitola, Macedonia. Mike enjoyed traveling and seeing different places of the world and visiting with his family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola, two brothers, Orson and Misko, two sisters, Milista and Verra of Thessaloniki Greece. A niece, Kelly Ann and a nephew Gus.

Survivors include: Lilijana Gregory of the home, a son, Peter Gregory of Denver Colorado, a daughter, Linda McElroy (Arvel) of Olathe, granddaughter Shelley Gregory Floyd (Darren) of Kansas City, Missouri, grandson Corey Gregory (Jenny) also of Kansas City, Missouri. Toni Lazarovska and Irina Mitanovska and their families of Bitola, Macedonia. Three brothers, Gus, Gregg and Tom Gregory of Overland Park, Kansas and two sisters, Vicky Aguiar (Buzz) of Overland Park and Freeda Harrington (Gary) of Mission Viejo, California, sister in law, Alyce Gregory of Ojai, California. Many nieces and nephews.
