Mollie Griffin Watkins

Mollie G. Watkins, 67, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She was born at Lambert Hospital in Princeton, Missouri on January 11, 1949, the daughter of Lawrence B. Griffin and Millie E. (Wiggins) Garrison. She attended and graduated Ottawa High School in the Class of 1967. On January 17, 1970, she was married to Richard B. Watkins and they made their home in Overland Park. They later divorced. Mollie worked as a sales clerk in various retail stores over a series of years. She enjoyed spending time at home with her beloved cat, Samuel. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She would love going out to dinner on occasion; especially at Jose Peppers. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her sisters, Maridee Johnson, Overland Park, Kansas; Gail Willson, Burnsville, Minnesota and Elizabeth Jane Hodnefield, Spring, Texas. She also leaves long-time friend, Bill Martindale and his daughter, Lisa Lawson; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 3:30-5:00 PM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS, for those wishing to pay their respects.
