With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Paula Susan Ferlo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Paula was born on April 11, 1956, in Leavenworth, Kansas, and was raised in Overland Park, Kansas by her loving parents Eileen and Paul DiPaola.
Paula's life was filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends. She graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School and the University of Kansas before dedicating 38 years as a passionate teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District. Her impact on her students and colleagues will always be remembered and cherished.
Known for her adventurous spirit, Paula had a deep passion for vacations and travel, especially to picturesque beaches. She also found joy and solace in her time spent as a member and fan of the Drum and Bugle Corps. Paula had a discerning palate and loved to explore different cuisines, with Italian and Mexican cuisine holding a special place in her heart. Her love for animals and her favorite Coca-Cola drink were constant sources of comfort and joy.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Christopher Ferlo, her children Megan Cook, son-in-law Justin Cook, and Justin DiPaola-Allen, her siblings Patrick DiPaola and Pamela Hill, and her cherished grandchildren Adelyn and Sawyer.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. In this time of loss, may we find solace in the knowledge that Paula Susan Ferlo is now at peace, surrounded by the loving embrace of her Creator.
