Preston Scott Pulido was born June 8, 1970 in Dallas, TX, passed away on Thursday, February 24th, 2022 in Prairie Village, KS after a hard fought battle against cancer. Loving husband to Jerri Dawn Head Pulido, and proud father to Peyton & Zane. He leaves behind his parents, Rev. Rudy & Doris Pulido (nee Ewens); sister, Jennifer (John) Starks; sister-in-law, Janel (Mark) Manns; father-in-law, Jerry Head; step father-in-law, Jon Irish; nieces and nephews, Mikayla, Ryan, Owen, and Crosby Starks, and Kinsley and Aidan Manns, and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; his younger brother, Brian; his mother-in-law, Janet Irish and daughter, Lucy Rae.
Scott loved many things in life. A few years after graduating from KU Law, he found his dream job as corporate counsel for Swiss Re, where he worked for 20 years. He loved being an attorney and longed to go back to work once he felt better.
Scott loved playing, coaching, and watching sports. He probably subscribed to every sports channel possible, and a game was always on in the Pulido house. His love for sports came from both his hometown (St. Louis Cardinals) and the town he’s called home for 30+ years (KU basketball, Sporting KC, Chiefs). By far, his greatest sports moments came from coaching or cheering his boys at soccer and basketball. He enjoyed every minute of it.
Scott loved his William Jewel Lambda Chi Alpha brothers, attending concerts, family trips to the lake or the beach, eating good mexican or barbecue, 1000-piece puzzles, and spending time with family, friends, and his pets.
We can’t imagine life without him. We are so thankful for every moment we had and memory we made. Love you more, Scott.
