Raymond G. Wiggins, 98, Lenexa, Kan., died January 19, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd Street, Overland Park. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. at the church prior to Mass. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Ray was born at Princeton, Mo., on Aug. 25, 1914, to Otto and Bonnie Wiggins. He was married to Mimi Sturm on April 9, 1938 at Maryville, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Illinois Central Railroad after 35 years of service at various locations. Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Mimi, sister, Millie Garrison, three brothers, Hollen, Powell, and Perry Wiggins, and son-in-law, Gene Thorne. He is survived by a daughter, Sally and son-in- law Jerry Rowley of Overland Park, sister-in-law, Alice M. McKay, and several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
