Rick was born November 17th, 1961, and built a life defined by hard work, love for family, and a deep appreciation for music and laughter. On August 14, 1982, he married the love of his life, Mary Lee (Sosebee) Gilchrist, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than four decades.
Rick was a proud, supportive, and loving father to Jason (Cindy) Gilchrist and Chelsea (Nate) Templeton, and a cherished “Papa” to his three grandchildren, Emery and Carsyn Templeton, and Maclan Gilchrist.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and brother, Rod (Teresa) Gilchrist, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Jetta Gilchrist; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Sosebee; and his brother-in-law, Danny Sosebee.
Rick enjoyed a long and successful career in logistics and operations. Outside of work, he was happiest as the captain of the boat, spending countless hours on the lake, where he found both adventure and peace. Music was another lifelong passion—Rick was a drummer, and his rhythm and love for music stayed with him throughout his life.
Known for his strength, loyalty, and generous heart, Rick will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a man who truly lived life on his own terms.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
