Ron V. Bailey

Ron V. Bailey, “Rot N Ron”, 74, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 3-4 pm at the McGilley & Hoge Memorial Chapel with funeral services starting at 4:00 pm. A private family burial will take place at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Ron was born on November 16, 1942 in Omaha, NE to Vern and Maxine Bailey. He graduated from Omaha North High School in 1961. He loved golfing all through high school. Ron went on to the community college and then enlisted in the US Army for four years. Ron then met Carol Prinz where she was a waitress at Kelly’s Bowl. They married on September 18, 1965 and had 3 children. Ron was a Meat Market Manager for 30 years with Safeway. He then worked his way up to Store Manager. The family moved to Overland Park in 1983 where Ron took a management position with Food Barn. The last 8 years he has been an Assistant Manager for Sunfresh. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Maxine Bailey. He is survived by his wife Carol Bailey, brother Duane Bailey, sister Jackie Ryan, three children: Dawn Foster and her husband David, Debbie Bailey, Mike Bailey and two granddaughters Jessica Foster and Brittany Foster.
