Ruth I. Wineland, 92, of Overland Park, KS, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in the Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, Kansas 66204. Friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.
Ruth was born June 21, 1918, in Diamond Valley Township, KS, grew up in Delavan, KS, lived in Herington, KS, and several military posts with her husband John. Ruth and John were long time residents of Wichita and Overland Park. Ruth's highest values in life were her family, her friends, her home and her faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Wineland. Survivors include her son, Tom Wineland and wife, Michele and grandchildren: Katie and Thomas Wineland; brother, Luke Spaulding and wife, Lucile.
