Many fond memories of my Cousin Theresa and her husband Tony when they lived in Chicago and I was a young girl. Over the years I’ve seen Len and Tim and was fortunate enough to have a wonderful visit from Theresa, Tony, Uncle Gesumino and Aunt Angie when my husband  and I lived in San Antonio.  Living in Dallas I had a great visit from Dominick. All of them will always be in my heart, thoughts and prayers. 

Our deepest condolences. I will always have many many happy memories of Aunt Theresa and Uncle Tony.  We treasured our summer visits to Kansas.  We send our love and prayers to our cousins.    Love, Julia and Peter

As you can tell from my sibling's posts, Aunt Theresa had the talent of making everyone feel special, and when you grow up in a family of six .. that's a big deal! All my brothers and sisters thought they were Aunt Theresa's favorite... but I was her "little Angel" !

Not only was she special to me and my siblings, but she was also kind to my kids.   When my daughter was having a tough time during a visit to Kansas, Theresa pulled her aside, listened, cheered her up, and built a special bond that will never be forgotten.  Aunt Theresa was good at these bonds, and I loved the relationship she had with my Dad. They spoke all the time.   Even when we lived in England in the 70s, we would have that special weekend call (that was very expensive I am sure.) 

On a side note, I want to thank Aunt Theresa for hiding me from my Dad at my sister's wedding when I drank so much I could barely walk.   She walked right between me and my Dad , and told him to "turn around and go the other way"  ☺

Aunt Theresa was the warmest, kindest soul who always had an open door, and an invitation to visit; her home was a second home for the my family for so
many hot summers. Lucky for me my birthday was always celebrated in the her backyard.  It was always a competition among my siblings to stay at Aunt Theresa’s house.  She was so much fun and full of energy.  She always made sure to pull out the great toys for the younger cousins.  She would bring out all of Judy’s most special Barbie dolls for Julia and I to play with for hours while she was preparing us an amazing Italian dinner with Uncle Tony. 
There is so much I admire about her, not just as an Aunt, but as a mother, a daughter to my beloved Grandma & Grandpa Bumbaca, and a cherished sister to my Father. Aunt Theresa was not just sweet and kind, but also ambitious, extremely intelligent and a role model to the the family! 
My father admired and respected her greatly; as a child I would listen to him on the phone with her for hours, asking for her advice and enjoying her perspectives on raising a large family. She always managed to calm my father and by the time he got off the phone we were in a little less trouble for our mischief.  It is a great comfort for me to know she is with my father now  - being the amazing big  sister that she is.   

I love you Aunt Theresa and will miss you very much.   

Aunt Theresa always did so much to make our summer trips to Overland Park special, from our first family visit in 1969 to my road trip with Linus when he was the same age as my first visit.

I miss the hospitality, warmth, and fun that she made possible each time our carload of kids showed up. 

On her last visit three years ago, on the occasion of her brother's funeral, Aunt Theresa and all the Navickas family brought joy and a special meaning to the sad passing of my father. 

Now, she, my father, and their parents are all together in peace. They had long and happy lives, and  we grandkids can be grateful for all the happiness their many sacrifices made possible.

When I think of our Aunt Theresa, I think of the Aunt who had the most fun home in Overland Park to visit – there was a pool table in the basement, a cuckoo clock in her kitchen, unlimited 7up and Pepsi, a home full of laughter and activity. She seemed magical to me when she entered the kitchen – somehow she’d be gone for a short period of time, then emerge with a dining room table covered in “Grandma Soup” (Italian Wedding Soup), rigatoni, lasagna, and breads. There were always Italian desserts. Aunt Theresa led a rich and extraordinary life and she will always be remembered as the generously loving, compassionate Aunt she was. As much as we will miss her, I know that Uncle Tony and my father have met her at the gates of heaven to give her a tour.

My favorite aunt and godmother who always treated me extra special. 
 So many happy memories visiting you. Thank you and Godspeed.
