Thomas “Tommy” Van Hee passed away 1/24/25, leaving behind a road well-traveled, a heart full of laughter, and a lifetime of music and friendship. A devoted Deadhead and Phish fan, Tommy roamed the highways of America in his VW van, sharing unforgettable moments with the friends who became his family. His kindness was as constant as the music he loved, always ready with a warm smile, a quick joke, and an open heart.
“Fare you well, fare you well, I love you more than words can tell. Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul.”
Tommy’s spirit will live on in the music, the road trips, and the laughter of those who were lucky enough to call him a friend. He leaves behind his brother Victor Van Hee, sister-in-law Ericka Trinh, nephew Finn Van Hee, and many beloved friends, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204. Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 am at the chapel. In honor of his adventurous soul, his ashes will be scattered in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, near to Red Rocks Amphitheater, where he spent many joyful hours with friends.
