

Albert “Al” F. Proskey, a resident of Orlando, passed away Friday February 13, 2026, at the age of 81. He was born on August 22, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph Proskey and Mary Marusarz. He grew up in the Stickney neighborhood, graduating from Reavis HS in Burbank in 1962. He then joined Western Electric/AT&T where he worked 35 years until his retirement. Al also worked at the Orlando Amway Center as an Usher Supervisor before retiring fully.
Al loved sports, playing and spectating. He was a legendary softball player in Chicago and enjoyed bowling in his younger years. In his retirement you could find him on the many golf courses in the Orlando area. He attended First Baptist Orlando and was inspired by the music. Travelling to his cabin in Waynesville NC with his wife and visiting friends and family were part of his favorite pastimes. His humor and distinct laugh will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Proskey; and his children Anthony Proskey, Michelle Komosa, Mark Proskey, and Kimberly Hill; 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph Jr., Ronald, and Robert.
