

Gumahad, Arsenio ArsenicMr. Arsenio Daniel Gumahad entered Heaven's Gate on Feb 18, 2017 at the Orlando VA Hospital Center at age 96. He was born in Lazi, Philippines on Dec 20, 1920. He was preceded in death by 7 months by his loving wife of 63 years, Soledad. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Remy Torres. Mr. Gumahad was a proud veteran of World War II and served honorably from 1941 to 1946 in the rank of Sergeant under the command of the US Army Forces, Far East in the Philippines. He survived the infamous Bataan Death March and endured as a Prisoner of War (POW). After the war, Mr. Gumahad earned his Juris Doctor degree and practiced law. He moved the family to New Jersey in 1970 and worked for the Dept of Veteran's Affairs until his retirement. He and Sol moved to Oviedo, Florida in 1997. He is survived by daughters, Vidette McClelland and Babette Gumahad; son, Bong (Jamie) Gumahad; grandson, Rocky McClelland; granddaughters, Margeaux (Jorge) McClelland-Velez and Allison Gumahad; sister-in-law, Rose (Cony) Balagat; nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and friends. The viewing is Sunday, Feb 26 at 6PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Oviedo. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, Feb 27 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Winter Park.
