Carmen Maldonado

Maldonado, Carmen 84, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and friend went home to the Lord on January 23rd, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Carmen was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico and moved to Vineland, New Jersey in 1951. Carmen had a very strong work ethic and often times held more than one job at a time to support her three daughters. Over the years she worked at American Sportswear sewing military uniforms, at Santa's Workshop creating Santa hats and Christmas garments, and at Bally's Park Place Casino Hotel. She put her 3 daughters through Catholic school at Sacred Heart in Vineland, New Jersey. In the late eighties Carmen moved to Berlin, Germany with her daughter Maria (Judy) and her family, where she worked on the military base earning awards for her service and dedication to the military community. When her son-in-law retired from the military, Carmen moved with the family to Oviedo, Florida. It was at this time Carmen began to work at the Veterans Hospital where she was recognized for her exemplary 10 years of service. Carmen was preceded to the pearly gates by her father, Jesus Rodriguez, her mother Maria Victoria Torres, her brother Amadore, and sisters Gela, Estelle and Marisa and grandson Christopher Michael. She is survived by her 3 daughters Maria Judith Blanchet; husband Jean Blanchet, Elba Iris Ojeda; husband Wilfredo Ojeda and Mary Matos; husband Mark Matos, 3 grandchildren Jean Pierre Blanchet, Dennis Crowley II, and Jeannette Blanchet, as well as 5 great grandchildren, Angelina Blanchet, Vaughn Blanchet, Natalia Crowley, Elle Mosley, and Mariska Crowley.
