Christopher "Chris" Jacob Lawnicki

Christopher “Chris” Jacob Lawnicki, age 43 of Oviedo, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020, of gallbladder cancer, surrounded by his family. He was born September 21, 1976 in Harvey, Illinois. He attended Lake Brantley High School, the University of Florida for his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering, and the University of Michigan Law School for his law degree. He began his career in Phoenix, Arizona, where he met his wife, Beth. They married in August 2006 and later lived and worked as intellectual property attorneys in Chicago, Illinois, and Cleveland, Ohio, finally moving back to the Orlando area to be near Chris’s family, and to lead the intellectual property strategy of an autonomous vehicle company. His smile and sense of humor were a bright light for those whose lives he touched, and he will be sorely missed by family and friends he left behind.

He is survived by his wife, Beth (Collins) Lawnicki and their children, Lily, Mia, and Nico; his mother, Nancy (Miciek) Herrington and her husband Ron; his father, Terry Lawnicki; his grandmother, Stella Miciek; his grandfather, Milt Wordelman; his siblings Jason, Dave (Lura) and Michelle Lawnicki; his step-sister, Lori Herrington; and numerous cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A gathering will be held Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 1-2 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Oviedo Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2 PM.
