
Clarence Mallard Bowden, III, age 80, of Oviedo, Florida, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Mal was born, Wednesday, October 1, 1941, in Thomaston, Georgia, to his loving parents, Clarence Mallard Bowden, Jr and Rachel (Connor) Bowden.
He grew up all over the Southeast, and as far away as Texas and New Mexico. He graduated from Winter Park High School, Winter Park, Florida. He then went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Military History at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. After college he went back to work for Martin Marietta, the company he had worked for in a co-op program, while in high school. After several years he took a sabbatical and toured Europe and South America, with the intention of returning to work after a year. Instead, he returned to the University of Florida to work on his Master's program in Military Armament.
In 2002, he retired from Lockheed Martin, after thirty-five years as a technical editor. He then spent time enjoying traveling, visiting family and friends, reading a plethora of books and magazines, and especially his various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mal leaves behind, his wife of forty-seven years, Judy, his daughter Jennifer, his son Christopher, his two sisters, Joyce and Diane, one grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews and many other dear relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11;00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 350 W. Artesia St., Oviedo, Florida, 32765.
