

Born on February 23, 1974, in Kingston, Jamaica, Horatio was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.
Horatio graduated from Jonathan Grant High School in Jamaica before moving to the United States, where he pursued higher education at Florida International University, earning a Master’s degree. A proud soldier, he served in the United States Army from 1993 to 1999, displaying immense courage and dedication.
In his recent years, Horatio faced significant health challenges, enduring two strokes and two heart attacks. Even through these trials, he remained a fighter, demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience. He was diagnosed with cancer in July 2025 and fought valiantly until his last day.
On May 5, 2025, Horatio married the love of his life, Dawn Chang. They shared a beautiful life together, attending the Refuge House of Praise Church of God on Sundays, where they cherished their time in fellowship. Horatio had a passion for playing dominoes, watching movies, and discovering new cuisines; always eager to embrace life to the fullest.
Dawn remembers Horatio as the most handsome and loving man, whose smile captured her heart. He worked with an insurance company, helping others secure their futures, showcasing his generous spirit and dedication to assisting those in need.
Horatio is survived by his loving wife, Dawn; his daughter, Alexis; and stepson, Ajhani. He leaves behind his siblings: Danny, Jacqueline, Edward, David, Christopher, and Mark, as well as 12 nieces and 13 nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Simone, his father, Anthony, his mother, Adris, and his grandparents.
Horatio's legacy of love, strength, and perseverance will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
A Visitation will be held on January 9, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, located at 501 E Mitchell Hammock Rd, Oviedo, FL, 32765.
Military honors will be observed at the same venue from 10:00 am to 10:15 am, followed by a Celebration of Life from 10:15 am to 11:30 am.
A Graveside service will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm on the same day.
