

He was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 14, 1952. His parents were James & Jennie Sweeney, who both preceded him in death. James Thomas Sweeney Jr. graduated from Deptford Township High school. He also graduated from the Police Academy and served as a Police Officer in National Park, New Jersey. He was a soldier in the United States Navy. James served our country on the USS INCHON (LPH-12), while also being active duty during the Vietnam War.
James found enjoyment driving buses for Leisure Line. He was a member of VFW and American Legion. He had a passion for WWE & watching the Philadelphia Eagles play football (Fly Eagles Fly). James also enjoyed watching the National Hockey League. Some of his other favorite hobbies were motorcycles, music & Devil Dogs.
He is survived by his one and only Daughter; Patrice Nicole Franklin (Kevin Franklin) – his son in law. Grandchildren; Kirsten Nicole Franklin & Dylan Michael Franklin (Cindy Franklin), Great Grandson; Jacob Michael Franklin. Along with his family he wanted to Honor his Shipmate & Best Friend Joe Fuehrer. He was loved by many other family and friends.
A Visitation for James will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will occur Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 501 E Mitchell Hammock Road, Oviedo, FL 32765. A Graveside Service W/ Military Honors will occur Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754.
