

Lieutenant-Colonel John Marcus “Marc” McLean, 77, died peacefully in his Oviedo, FL home on March 26, 2018. A veteran of Vietnam and Granada, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was also awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and earned his airborne wings with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Lt. Col. McLean was a graduate of Georgia Tech and a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He entered active duty on March 15, 1964. During his time on active duty he earned a MBA from Troy State and was a graduate of the Command and General Staff College. He retired from active duty on December 1, 1985. He was a brave and loyal soldier. He then entered the workforce as a civilian contractor to the United States government.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann, whom he married September 1, 1962. They had two sons, Wade (Linnette), John (Raquel), and one daughter, Megan (Jonathan); they have eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will take place at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral home in Oviedo, FL on April 5, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A funeral service will be performed by Fr John Davis and will take place at The Church of the Incarnation Episcopal Church that meets on the grounds of Canterbury 1601 Alafaya Trail, Oviedo, Florida 32765 on April 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm. A burial ceremony will take place at Restland Cemetary on April 9, 2018 at 10:00 am in Dallas Texas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the ASPCA.
