> Mr. Barninger was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on March 29, 1946 to the late Lawrence L. and Laura (Barrick) Barninger. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1964 and went on to attend Temple University, Florida State University, and Barry University before finishing his master's degree in Finance and Business Management from the University of Maryland. He married Marsha Knarr on January 22, 1972 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.

> Larry served in the US Army in Vietnam and the USAR before transferring to the US Coast Guard where he completed Officer Candidate School. He was recalled to active duty frequently for Shuttle missions at Cape Canaveral, drug interdiction, and Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He served with a Harbor Defense Command Unit and a Port Security Unit before being recalled to active duty at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC. He retired as a Lieutenant Commander in July 2003 with 33 years of active and reserve service.
> Larry was a Florida State Trooper for 7 years, and an investigator and polygraphist for the Public Defender's Office and the State Attorney's office. He retired from state service to open Hawk Investigative Service and Polygraphists of the Treasure Coast.
> His first love in business was always commercial real estate. After obtaining his Broker's License, he worked for the Staubach Company which later merged with Jones Lang LaSalle. He earned the designation of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) with a dual designation in office and industrial specialties. He left to work as a partner with Vince Wolle at Results Real Estate Partners before opening his own brokerage, Temple Commercial Real Estate.
> He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Oviedo, Acacia Masonic Lodge in Stuart, Florida, Scottish Rite in Winter Park, Florida, the VFW in Fort Pierce, Florida and the American Legion in Oviedo, Florida, Reserve Officer's Association and Military Officer's Association.

> He is preceded in death by his sister, Alberta (Barninger) Selby.
>
> Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Marsha (Knarr) Barninger; daughter Cynthia (Barninger) Roberts and husband Terry G. Roberts; grandson Brett D. Roberts and wife Shelbi Roberts; great grandson, Callum Grey Roberts; aunt and uncle Helen and Robert Smith, and his niece and her husband, Connie and Richard McMahon.
> Memorial service will be held March 25, 2022 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Oviedo at 1:00 pm.
