Born on April 18, 1948 in New York City, Linda was a woman whose life was defined by love, warmth, and quiet strength. She later made her home in Orlando, Florida, where she spent her final years surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda was the beloved wife of Carmelo García, and a devoted mother to her children, Christopher Michael García and Joy Simone García, who were the center of her world. She was the cherished daughter of the late Airy Deveraux, and a loving sister to Silas Deveraux and the late Willie Joyce Deveraux. She also shared a deeply special bond with her lifelong friend who became a sister, Lydia Crespo, a relationship rooted in love, loyalty, and years of shared memories.
Professionally, Linda dedicated herself to meaningful work, serving at the Canadian Imperial Bank of New York and later as a paraprofessional supporting children in special education. Her patience, compassion, and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on the lives of those she worked with and cared for.
Linda was known for her loving, warm, and peaceful nature. She had a heart that embraced others with ease and a presence that brought comfort to those around her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—shopping, watching movies, and most of all, spending precious time with her children and loved ones. She also had a special love for dogs, and leaves behind her cherished companions, Mya and Winter, who brought her comfort and joy.
Though she is no longer with us physically, Linda’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a source of strength and comfort.
She has now entered eternal rest, embraced in peace and surrounded by everlasting light.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
