Susan Ann Hammack, age 62, of Oviedo, Florida passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 surrounded by family. Known for her selfless nature, Susan was always ready to help those in need and her home was always inviting to her children’s friends.
Susan was born in Syracuse, New York, on December 9, 1962 to Lawrence and Marina Twomey. The family resided in nearby Liverpool for most of Susan’s childhood. She attended local schools, performing in the choir and playing clarinet for the band. Susan always loved reading and the arts, singing and dancing her way from childhood to adulthood.
Susan was a graduate of Old Dominion University, where she accomplished two major milestones: earning her business degree and finding the love of her life. Many would say the second achievement was the most important. She briefly worked as an assistant in Washington D.C., but her true calling was being a mother and grandmother. Susan became a proud mom to four girls, her own quartet of joy and love.
Most of her adult life, Susan lived in the sunshine state. She enjoyed planning family trips to the Northeast each Summer, to escape the heat for a while, and Arizona to visit family.
Lovingly known as Gaga to her five grandchildren, Susan shared her excitement for life and instilled her joyful spirit into each kid. She never missed a Girl Scout event, dance recital, chorus concert, soccer game, birthday, or graduation.
Susan will always be remembered as a devoted mother and wife, kindhearted neighbor and friend, caring daughter and sister, and sweetest Gaga there ever was. Her light will continue to shine through everyone she knew and loved.
Susan was preceded in death by her father Lawrence and her brother Kevin. She is survived by her mother Marina, sister Lisa Holm (Erick), husband Donald, four daughters Emily, Stephanie, Kay, and Faith, and five grandchildren Holden, Michael, Emmanuella, Indigo and Lars. She is also survived by a niece and nephew, Lily and Evan Holm, as well as several cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at University Carillon.
