Alan Barnes 8/6/1944 - 08/30/2011 Englishman and Monterey resident of 30 years, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2011 with his wife, Renee Barnes and son, John Barnes at his side. Alan was a motorcycle enthusiast and restored numerous English motorbikes as a hobby. He also had a love for the game of golf and enjoyed most outings at Del Monte Golf Course, though Spyglass Hill in Pebble Beach was his absolute favorite. Alan was an avid SF Giants fan as well as Manchester United supporter. Alan enjoyed the company of friends at local English Pubs and especially loved a nice pint of Guinness. Alan is survived by his wife Renee Barnes, sons John and Alan Barnes and 3 daughters Janet, Samantha and Sarah. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 5 beloved cats and too many friends to count.
A Celebration of Alan's Life will be held at the Barnes home in Seaside, Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
