SEPTEMBER 16, 1940 TO JUNE 8, 2022
Our beloved mother Ann Marie Beyer, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. She was attended by her loving daughters at the time of her death. Ann is survived by her brother, three daughters, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, lifelong friends including her ex-husband and her beloved dog.
A fierce lover of Life, Ann inspired those around her to explore! Travel! Read, and live their best lives!. Originally from Norfolk NE, and a longtime resident of El Paso. TX, Ann realized her lifelong dream of living by the sea when she moved to Monterey Bay in 1982. She purchased her ‘cottage with a view’ in 1994. Ann celebrated many accomplishments in her life.
A lover the Arts, Ann was the official photographer for Ballet El Paso for many years. Her work was published in programs, newspapers, and magazines. As a citizen of the World, Ann was an avid traveler. She loved to explore Mexico, both in her role as photographer for Ballet El Paso, as well as in a personal capacity. She traveled to Japan, Turkey, Europe and throughout the US. Ann volunteered as a whale spotter and ‘fluke’ photographer for Sanctuary Cruises. She attended political science classes at MPC, studied Arabic and furthered her significant sewing skills by taking costuming classes. She put her talents to work by supporting local dance and community theater productions.
Though Ann had many creative and intellectual interests, nothing compared to her unwavering love of her family. Her face would light-up and she would exclaim with glee at each new picture, text message or phone call from one of her babies. She believed in surrounding herself with beauty, creating garden spaces full of brightly colored flowers. Mom kept us on our toes, and we will miss her dearly. We know that she is with us in our hearts, and in every joyous leap of a whale in the bay.
Ann supported UNICEF, Doctors without Borders, Stevenson School, the local food bank, and various Women’s charities. If you are moved to, any donations to these organizations in her name would be greatly appreciated. The family will be holding a private ‘Celebration of Life’ for Ann in September.
