Beverly Mae Leonard

November 26, 1933 – December 31, 2015

Beverly Mae (Wood) Leonard, age 82, passed away peacefully at Carmel Hills Care Center. She was born in Massena, N.Y. to the late Cecil and Myrtle Wood. At the age of 18, she ventured out from Ogdensburg to Syracuse, N.Y. where she met her devoted husband of 49 years, the late Dandy Dan Leonard. They are survived by their two daughters, Debbie (Leonard) O'Connell Koekebacker, from Groton, N.Y. and Darcy Leonard Blackburn (Michael) from Seaside, CA; Grandsons, Todd Robertson (daughters Aleyna and Olivia) from Camillus, N.Y. and Kyle O'Connell(wife Timi, daughter Keira and son Wesley) from Moravia, N.Y. She was predeceased by 4 sisters and is survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother. Her faithful Yorkshire Terrier, Jill, gave her great joy, along with her daughters and grandchildren. Beverly had Parkinson's disease, at an early onset of age 56, but never let that hinder her ability to be creative in design. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff and friends at Carmel Hills Care Center in Monterey, CA where she resided for 3½ years. The family will be eternally grateful to them. Private family services will be held. Donations in Beverly's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
