Mrs. Victoria Brown.
After spending her early years in Blair, South Carolina, Earline moved on to Spartanburg, South Carolina in the late thirties. Along with her sisters, Etta and Bernice, she played basketball at Carver High School where she graduated. After graduation, Earline worked as an assistant to a local physician. Soon after, she met and married Nehemiah Jeter. Their union of almost 60 years produced six children- Bernard, Alvenia, Jerry, Nehemiah Jr., Ronald and Yvonne.
Our loving Mother pronounced her dedication to the Lord by proclaiming joyfully, “I came to the Lord when I was 13 years old.” She never wavered in her faith and generously shared her true Christian love and compassion with others.
Known as “The Flower Lady of Pacific Grove”, Mrs. Jeter wore many hats: Wife, Mother, Friend, Doctor, Homemaker, Beautician, Barber, Counselor, Spiritualist, Activities Coordinator, Chef, Dietician, and most importantly Ambassador of Peace and Love.
Mrs. Earline Jeter is survived by daughters: Ms. Alvenia Jeter and Mrs. Yvonne Abdullah, Colma, California; sons: Mr. Jerry Jeter, San Francisco; Mr. Nehemiah Jeter, Jr., Hercules, California; and, Mr. Ronald Jeter, Seaside, California; grandson: Adam Jeter, Daly City, California; sisters: Mrs. Bernice Walker, Binghamton, New York, and Mrs. Margaret Jackson, Spartanburg, South Carolina; brothers: Mr. James Edward Brown, Greer, South Carolina; and Mr. Woodrow Brown, Spartanburg, South Carolina; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Earline Brown Jeter will be remembered for her strength, gracious hospitality, genuine kindness, and dignity. She lived by the frequently repeated greeting she offered those she met, “Peace and Love”. May eternal light shine upon her as she rests in the arms of the Lord.
