Jill Marie Hanson

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Coe Hanson, in 1969: her sister, Lani, & brother-in-law,

Mark Nelson, in 2015, and her beloved Jesse this past year. Jill is survived by her parents,

Harry and Elaine Hanson; her brother, Scot, her nieces, Adell Hargreaves & husband, Corey and Elise

Kelly & husband, Nick and her great-nephew, Jackson.

Jill loved her family and visits home to Minnesota, often in the summer, during State Fair time,

and most often at Christmas time. Jill loved being with family at Christmas, gatherings at the

house enjoying the family traditions, attending the Christmas Eve service at Mount Olivet and

enjoying special meals at her favorite Minneapolis restaurants… treasured times for the Hanson

family!

Jill loved to travel and always had plans for her next trip! She especially enjoyed her ski trips to

Europe, trips to Hawaii, Mexico, and most recently to Thailand with Jesse.

Jill loved living in the beautiful Monterey area. She often sent photos of her daily walks in Pacific Grove. Her favorite spot was Lover’s Point overlooking Monterey Bay. Jill moved to Monterey in the early 1980s, and had successful careers working at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), Landmark Hotels (in Carmel and a few years in Palm Springs), and in recent years at California American Water where she met Jesse.

Jill had great organizational skills and was at her best when she was in charge! She was a sociable gal and made friends easily. Her longtime friends, Dorothy Sams Eigen, best friend growing up in Edina, and

Nannette Buck were by her side when she passed. Jill’s family is so very grateful to Nan and

Dottie for their love and support for Jill during the past year.

A private celebration of Jill’s life will be held at a later date in the Monterey area.
