June Frances Pitkoff, 92, passed away on August 21, 2025. June was born and raised in San Francisco, living in the Mission District and Glen Park. She maintained many of her friendships from her childhood throughout her entire life. She graduated from Notre Dame de Namur, on Dolores Street, having been a student at the school from kindergarten through high school. Upon graduation, her first foray into the business world was a position with The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. During this period June met, and married, the love of her life, Harry Pitkoff. They moved to Harry’s home town of Philadelphia for a short time, where June worked as an ad model and was able to experience life on the east coast. June ended up missing California and they moved back to the Bay Area. They finally settled into Los Gatos, where she watched orange groves and farms turn into Silicon Valley. June’s father, after every visit to their house in Rinconada Hills, would drive down their street to the rabbit farm to purchase fresh rabbits for his favorite recipe. During this time, June worked in fine jewelry, where her skills and knowledge of gems were noticed and recognized by management. June eventually settled into Carmel Valley where she and Harry established lifelong friendships. June treasured Harry and was the perfect audience for his quick wit, and enjoyed that role immensely. Her talent in art, painting, interior design and needlework, was amazing and was totally self- taught. Her needlepoints were especially a family treasure, as many were designs done by her personally. She will be missed greatly by her those who came to know her. She is survived by her sister Donna Valentino, niece Leslie Valentino Costanza (Todd), great-nephew Oskar, and great-niece Clementine.
