Karuna Licht passed away on February 13, 2018. Beloved daughter, mother, grandmother and sister, skilled psychotherapist, remarkable ceramicist, water colorist and painter, she was an essential friend to countless members of the Big Sur and Monterey Peninsula communities. Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1941 into a political activist family, she remained passionately committed to social equity and justice. Workers' rights, women's advancement and establishing assistance to sufferers of domestic abuse were key causes for her. She ever sought to find personal meaning in her life and found enlightenment in Buddhist and Judaic teachings. She is not gone; her spirit, beauty and artwork are indelibly etched in the minds of everyone she touched.
