Louis Piave Silvestri 97, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty”, of Carmel, CA, died in Monterey, on July 14, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York City, NY, on October 11, 1918; he was the son of the late Jennie and Joseph Silvestri of Teaneck, NJ. He was predeceased by his sister Lilian Avanzi. Louis is survived by his son, Alan Silvestri and his wife, Sandra, of Carmel, CA, and their three children, Alex and her husband Chris Barber, of Alamo, CA, Joseph, of Los Angeles, CA, and James of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter, Betty-Lou Kullas and her husband, Robert, of Carmel, CA, and their son Brian, of Los Angeles, CA; and three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Emerson, and Leighton Barber.

Louis was a 1936 graduate of Teaneck High School, Teaneck, New Jersey. He resided in New York City, NY, and Teaneck, NJ, for 72 years before moving to Carmel California in 1991. He was employed by Moore McCormack Lines, Inc. in NYC for forty years and Marsh McLennan, Co. Inc. in NYC for ten years.
