Margie was born on April 7, 1943, on a farm in Hugo, Minnesota to Manuel and Lucille LaValle. She was the youngest of three children. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse.
Margie was raised on a farm and moved to California at the age of eighteen with her two childhood friends. She was an adventurous person and was the only one from her entire extended family to move out of Minnesota. She met and married Phil McClure and they settled in King City where Chris and Darren were born before moving to Monterey.
She worked as a legal secretary. She later became a paralegal in Monterey and worked for two successful attorneys for nearly five decades
Margie raised Chris and Darren as a single mother and instilled in them the value of hard work, caring for others, and the value of positivity. She was very active in St Angela Merici parish in Pacific Grove helping with the Italian Catholic Federation, fundraising for the golf tournament and other events and was still a member of one of the original Small Christian Communities. She loved traveling to Maui. She would take her two sons to Hawaii every year or two when they were children to visit her best friends who lived in Maui.
The brightest spots in Margie’s life were her four grandsons. She loved spending time with them and always had an uplifting sweet demeanor with the boys.
She is survived by her brother, Gordon Peloquin of Vadrais Heights, Minnesota; her sons, Chris (Colleen) and Darren McClure and her grandsons, Phillip, Todd, and Matthew McClure (Chris’ sons) and Dylan McClure (Darren’s son). She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Peloquin.
Visitation will be held at The Paul Mortuary from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 6t with recitation of the Rosary at 6:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday August 7 at St. Angela Merici Church at 10:00 am.
