Betty Lynn Steinweg, 89, of White Plains, NY, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by love from her family on October 24, 2023. She was predeceased last month by her treasured husband of 67 years, Bernard Steinweg. She is survived by her sons Peter (Lanna) of Miramar FL, and David (Erica) of Shaker Heights OH, her dear grandchildren Joshua, Jordan and Sophie (to whom she will always be known as “Grammy,”) her brother, Tom (Joan) of San Francisco, CA, and her devoted doxie, Noodles.
Betty Lynn was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, to Milton and Lenore (Tzinberg) Frenkel. She attended Wheaton College and graduated from Washington University in 1952. She married Bernie, the love of her life, in 1957. They lived throughout the country (New Orleans, Milwaukee, Chicago and White Plains) and around the world (Paris, Milan, Rio De Janeiro and Buenos Aires). Betty Lynn loved the arts in all aspects, especially modern visual art, and was an avid collector of paintings and sculptures. She spent over 25 years as a volunteer, docent and board member with the Neuberger Museum in Purchase, NY, because she valued the arts community and supporting wonderful museums throughout New York. She was an enthusiastic traveler, chocolate lover, bridge player and tennis fan. She showed her tremendous strength of spirit in the last years of her life as she lived and thrived despite several chronic illnesses. She became even more joyful and loving -- a light and inspiration to all around her. Her greatest love was for her family by whom she will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am, Sunday, October 29, 2023 at I.J. Morris at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33412
